For the cumulative project in my 3rd year Intermediate Theory and Location Portfolio Project, I was tasked with photographing a project over the course of the 12 week semester with the intention on yielding 20 finished images.
I chose to heavily pursue concert photography in a way that documented the nuances of concert life. To do this I spent three days on the road with Canadian country artist Andrew Hyatt and also shot Kentucky Rails and the Recklaws (all of which appear in this portfolio).
I tried to capture details of the artists them selves that demonstrated the conflict between legitimate humanity and perceived performance of the star-self. I hope to continue using this lens to explore more artists in the future.
